Project “Transition from institutional care to community-based services in the Capital Region, Central and Western Lithuania” Nr. 07-018-P-0001.       

The Agency for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania, together with the Klaipėda City Municipal Administration and the partner Centre for Psychosocial Activities “Nauja pradžia”, will start the project in April 2024. Transition from institutional care to community-based services in the Capital Region, Central and Western Lithuania”  

The aim of the project is to provide new forms of community-based services to adults with intellectual and/or mental disabilities, their families (guardians, carers) and to enable the target group to receive individual services and support in the community that meet their needs.

The activities of the Centre for Psychosocial Activities “Nauja pradžia” include the development, maintenance and/or restoration of social skills in social workshops.

The purpose of the social workshops is to increase the employability of people with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities in the open labour market, to develop, train and maintain general and specific work skills through meaningful work-based employment activities aimed at the production of a specific good, product or service.

The project is financed by: the European Union Funds Investment Programme 2021-2027 and the State Budget.

Project promoter: the Agency for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania.

The project is implemented in Klaipėda City Municipality.
